About Us

Our founder Ojy, aka NovaStarCosplay, has been cosplaying since 2000; and organizing cosplay themed events in the Greater Houston Area since 2006, when the idea was conceived for Cosplay Day Out, a one day cosplay picnic event that was open to all free of charge. The goal was to provide a safe, accessible, and entertaining cosplay experience for the Texas cosplay community. The first ever Cosplay Day Out picnic was held at Mercer Botanical Gardens on on March 18, 2006, and there has been a picnic every spring since. When Covid-19 hit, the 2020 picnic was shifted to an online format, which we have adopted going forward, until such a time as it is safe to all gather in person. We hope to focus our efforts towards supporting small business sellers that are being affected by convention closures and providing online cosplay themed content until we are able to again host events in person. We greatly anticipate the return of our physical events, but will only do so when it is safe for everyone to do so.

You can connect with us on FacebookInstagramTwitter, and Discord.

Cosplay Day Out is an independently owned venture. We do not belong to, nor are we directly affiliated with, any anime convention.
